Paramedical Courses
NeckSafe®
The NeckSafe® Programme teaches the first person on the scene of a potential Spinal Cord Injury (SCI), the First Responder, how to assess and manage the situation NeckSafe® is the only Accredited course in Australia in the Acute Management of Spinal Injuries.
It is an 8 hour course specifically dedicated to an injury which could ruin the lives of an individual, his family and friends, and cost the community upwards of $3 million.
Law suits in this area commonly top $12 million, but the social devastation can be much worse.
Whilst some training organisations offer First Aid courses which do include some level of information on Spinal Injuries in their curriculum, they are neither extensive nor specific to this area, and, frankly, the organisations which teach them do not have the same single-minded determination to improve the secondary prevention of spinal injures as does IMMEDIATE ASSISTANTS.
Areas covered include:
- Background to Spinal Cord Injury
- Neurological evaluation
- Treatment of Spinal Cord Injury
- Spinal injuries in the aquatic environment
- Transporting the "spinal patient"
- Spinal transport equipment
- References
The IMMEDIATE ASSISTANTS NeckSafe® course is taught by experts in the field to ensure that the experiences gained have practical application in the real world
